Thermosiphon Roof Mounted Solar Hot Water
Roof mounted tank systems save space at ground level and use the thermosiphon principle to collect heat from the sun through the heat-absorbent panels and transfers it to the storage tank.
Solahart’s roof mounted tank systems save space at ground level and their elegant simplicity make them efficient and reliable. All Solahart hot water systems, where the tank is roof-mounted, use the Thermosiphon principle to collect heat from the sun and transfer it to your hot water.
The 302L solar hot water system has its vitreous enamel lined solar storage tank installed on the roof directly coupled to the solar collectors. It works on the simple scientific fact that hot water rises. As the sun heats the water in the solar collectors, the increase in temperature causes the water to rise through an insulated copper pipe into the storage tank. Copper is used for the risers because of its high thermal conductivity ensuring the maximum amount of heat energy is passed to the water. This allows cooler water from the solar hot water storage tank to flow into the solar collectors to be heated by the sun’s energy. This process continues while solar energy is available.
In this way Solahart solar water heaters constantly soak up the sun’s energy to maximise your energy savings. With a Solahart thermosiphon solar hot water heating system you can choose from a range of boosters including in-tank electric or in-line gas boosters to ensure you always have hot water on tap even on cloudy days.
